Not sure about the wisdom of doing this but stayed up the whole of Saturday night watching the complete Lord of the Rings. All three extended editions, back to back. A twelve and a half hour fantasy marathon. Never sat down and watched it in it's entirety before, so an achievement of sorts.

Ah well - can't say I've ever done that in pursuit of fiction - although I have stayed up until after breakfast in order to watch general election coverage on the 'special years' - i.e. when there's been a change of command.
Just as nerdy I suppose to some!
Ah, election nights. I prefer hitting the sack and being greeted with the news by Today on Radio 4 the next morning. My local constituency never declares until after 5ish anyhow. It's also a safe labour seat, so any sense of excitment is diminished by the fact it's a certainy Labour will get it. The local elections are far more interesting.
we've done the LOTR trilogy a couple times...usually starting sunday morning and watching it all day...it is very long but really is quite the experience watching it back to back
Perhaps watching it on a Sunday would have been more sensible. It takes me days to recover from a late night. No longer the spring chicken I like to think I am.
I've never done it. I'm not sure exactly why. I believe I should...
